When you think you can’t do anything to stop the violence in the world, think again, and start right where you are. Today, put aside your anger, even if it’s seemingly justified, and cultivate peace instead. (Mary DeTurris Poust)

Pressure on Jesus was relentless, but he still stepped aside for rest and prayer. He was careful to carve out time for the things that provided balance in life. He was not willing to sacrifice a full life for the sake of a crowded calendar. (Eric Hollar)

Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it. (Mary Oliver)
A wonderful new project of yours—such a gift!! Keep snapping and quoting–love it!

Thanks, Meg. Good to hear from you. This project has one more posting later today. The twelve images and quotations will be my 2020 calendar! I wasn’t sure if they would make good blog posts without any words of my own. Thanks for the encouraging feedback.

One more note, Meg. The quotations are either from books I read this year, or they were cited in books that I read. So, you get an idea of where I’ve been and what I’m reading since January! You can find the list of books on “My Favorites in 2019” page on this blog. Thanks for urging me forward with both images and quotations, oh so many years ago!
